:) I have no memory of him looking this good, but yeah, he was. My mom tells he was also a great dresser who wore a pressed white shirt to high school every day. I do remember him being a bit of a clothes horse. :)

I'll post mom's later. She was a stunner, and at 90, she still turns heads with sense of style. As you can see from my ID, I inherited none of their collective fashion sense

Oh, you just joined. Welcome to DA! I'll add you to my watch list so I don't miss your upcoming art. :XD:

Aww thanks mcdermid. I'll be posting shortly. I do pencil art, and am starting to do digital. So that's what you can expect from me. Probably mostly portraits, or possibly fantasy scenes and the occasional still-life or something.

I'd love to see the portrait of your mother. I really love the old photos of people. With their style, hair, clothes, it even seems they had better skin. And always photogenic. :D I'm sure she still is a stunner like you say. ;)

I look forward to seeing your work. I'll try to get my mom's pic up soon, plus a few other older family photos.

Have you been checking out some of the stock galleries. There are many great vintage photos on this site.

Thanks (though I've never seen myself as being handsome). :)

So wide eyed, such clarity of expression. (I can see the resemblance!)

Thanks for commenting. My mom says that sometimes she glances at me and sees him, though I don't think she's actually seem him for over 30 years.

I'm actually a bit envious--my hs pic did not look that good.

PS, if you can use the image, I'd be honored.

Actually, I had a momentary pang of guilt when I read your request to use the picture "respectfully".

Firstly, I thought it was a nice way of putting it, but secondly I wondered whether I have been guilty of disrespectful treatment of long-gone ancestors (people's mothers, fathers, children, lovers). I hope not - even when I'm being frivolous I feel a strange tenderness for the faces and the lost individuals, and I try to make up for the flippant comments by putting them in beautiful backgrounds.

I do see what you mean, but I haven't seen anything in your work that approaches disrespect. And under that criterion, I'm perhaps more guilty, using ads, etc.
